This privacy policy applies to all information collected or submitted on Fly’s website and our apps across all devices.

Information we collect

When creating an account or linking an anonymous account you may choose to enter an email address and a password. Email addresses are only used for logging in, password resets, responding to mails thay you initiate and notifications that you request. Fly does not send promotional emails.

You may choose not to provide an email address and continue to use the Fly while remaining anonymous.

Fly stores information that you provide including the flights that you feed into the app. This includes but is not limited to the route, timings and airline of the journey.

Technical Basics

If you upload content to Fly like images and videos we must store these files until you delete them or close your account.

Fly uses signin tokens on our apps to maintain your session and keep you logged in until you log out.

Firebase

Fly uses Firebase (A service provided by Google) to aid in many of the functions that are provided to the user. If you choose to provide an email and password for your account, the password is stored securely with Firebase. Passwords are not stored in plain text. They are hashed and then stored. Cloudflare

For performance and overload protection, we may direct your traffic through Cloudflare before it reaches Fly’s servers. Additional information collected by anonymous analytics

Fly’s apps includes limited components of Firebase to provide crash reporting and basic analytics to help us improve the app. These are aggregate, anonymous statistics, such as the percentage of users who use particular features.

Other data, such as flights taken or shared, may be shared anonymously for aggregate statistical analysis to further improve the app.

Additional information collected by in-app ads

Fly’s apps and websites includes Google ads using AdMob or AdSense. Google may use the advertising identifier from your device(s) to infer interests, demographics, and other data to show you more relevant ads. Your device advertising identifier can be disabled or reset by following instructions from Apple or from the company that supports the platform you use Fly on.

Other data, such as flights taken, may be shared anonymously for ad targeting.

Information usage

We use the information we collect to operate and improve our website, apps, and customer support.

We do not share your personal information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to accomplish Fly’s functionality, except as specified above for analytics and in-app advertisements.

We may share anonymous, aggregate statistics with outside parties, such as how many users have flown a certain route.

We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violations of our policies; or to protect our rights and property.

In the future, we may sell to, buy, merge with, or partner with other businesses. In such transactions, user information may be among the transferred assets.

Security

We implement a variety of security measures to help keep your information secure.

For instance, all communication with the app and website requires HTTPS, and passwords are not stored: they are hashed using advanced, well-researched methods.

Third-party links and content

Fly displays links and content from third-party sites like Wikipedia. These have their own independent privacy policies, and we have no responsibility or liability for their content or activities.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.

Information for European Union Customers

By using Fly and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union.

International Transfers of Information

Information may be processed, stored, and used outside of the country in which you are located. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may be applicable to your data depending on where it is processed, stored, or used.
